Description
Summary:Energy Transitions delivers leading edge research that evaluates the policy, economic, and technical challenges and opportunities arising from initiatives to move toward more sustainable and less-carbon intensive power generation mixes (e.g., those incorporating nuclear, renewables, and more efficient fossil fuels). International and multidisciplinary in scope, the journal is fully Open Access thanks to the support of KACST and KAPSARC. The journal is particularly focused on the Middle East-North African (MENA) region, with articles that both directly study MENA countries or apply lessons learned from the experience of other countries to this region. Blending theoretical and empirical approaches, the journal will cover policy and economic instruments, implications, and effects of energy transitions. Articles will focus on enabling technologies, case studies, mathematical models, empirical studies, and implementation methods and challenges. The topical scope of the journal will address the wider application of nuclear and renewable resources, as well as energy efficiency and conservation approaches.
