| Sammanfattning: | Extreme Physiology & Medicine is an open access journal focussing on integrative human physiology under conditions of physiological stress, including that exerted by extreme environments, exercise and certain clinical conditions. Topics of interest include the physiological and medical implications of exposure to: High altitude and hypoxia Hyperbaric conditions and diving Aerospace Extremes of temperature Intense or endurance exercise Underpinning the journal is the concept that the study of human systems under extreme stress can enhance understanding of disease processes and the treatment of patients. We particularly welcome papers that recognise the relevance of boundary physiology to human disease states and their management. In vitro and animal studies will only be considered where they represent a frame-shift in understanding of, or an important methodological contribution to, human physiological research. The suitability of such studies should be discussed with the Editors prior to submission. |
