Subjects include (but are not limited to) the epidemiology, clinical, prevention and treatment aspects of pregnancy-related conditions during preconception, prenatal, and postpartum periods; placental development and complications; fetal development; and topics related to labor and delivery. The journal is also interested in articles on the health and illnesses affecting the foetus and newborn infant. Some examples of these are: infectious diseases, medical and surgical conditions of major organ systems, routine and intensive care of newborn infants, neonatal resuscitation, breastfeeding, human milk feeding and nutrition, and the follow-up and outcomes of high and normal-risk newborn infants. In general, these topics should be related to maternal health, neonatology and perinatology, and be relevant globally or to a specific region or country.
