The study utilized secondary data collected from the Nairobi Securities Exchange over a five year period (year 2009 to year 2013). Using Altman’s Z score model, the study findings indicate that the companies’ Z scores (on average) lay between -1.88 to 3.5. This is an indication that the companies are relatively not in danger of bankruptcy.
