description Rapid increase of new challenges facing organizations due to globalization has resulted in the need for successful business turnaround so as to reform troubled companies future competitive competence. This would ensure that outdated, unreliable and inefficient strategies for competing are eliminated and more advanced strategies utilized. The study therefore set to determine successful factors for business turnaround. The study results show that there is a positive relationship between the independent variables: managerial skills, HR practices, working capital management, business innovativeness and dependent variable, successful business turnaround. The study employed a descriptive research design. The study population was 1000 employees of USL.The target population was 32 senior and middle level managers. The accessible population consisted of 13 branch managers located in Nairobi and 10 senior managers. The accessible population formed the sample of the study. The respondents were selected through convenient sampling method. The data was collected using questionnaires. The data was analyzed using statistical package for analysis (SPSS). The findings were presented in pie charts, bar graphs, and tables for clarity. The study concludes that the most significant factor is management skills followed by business innovativeness. The study recommends that companies should focus on employees well being at work as it promotes advantages in the institution and further that companies should invest in training and development of staff to achieve desired productivity. The study also recommends that USL should develop a single promotional strategy to optimize awareness among its target customers.
