Nicholas Niciphor

Nicholas Niciphor (b 1946) is an American screenwriter and film director. His best known credit is the film ''Deathsport'' (1978) which he wrote and directed, although he left the production during filming. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Niciphor was born in New York, to a Norwegian woman who gave him up for adoption. He grew up in Europe. Niciphor studied filmmaking at USC and made several short films. He wrote ''Our Winning Season'' for Joe Roth at AIP and Roth recommended Niciphor to Roger Corman. This led to ''Deathsport'' which was a turbulent production. This ended his directing career although Niciphor continued to work as a writer. Provided by Wikipedia
