She is Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and of Studies of Women, Gender & Sexuality at Harvard University, having co-founded and led the development of the latter. In the field of 20th-21st-century French/Francophone literature and thought, Jardine's research focuses on Post-WWII fiction and critical theory, with an emphasis on French poststructuralist and American feminist and queer thought.
