প্লুতার্ক
thumb|alt=Alt text|মেস্ত্রিউস প্লুতার্কপ্লুতার্ক (আনু. ৪৬ - ১২০) ছিলেন গ্রিক ইতিহাসবিদ, জীবনীকার ও প্রাবন্ধিক। পরবর্তীতে রোমান নাগরিকত্ব লাভের পর তিনি মেস্ত্রিউস লুসিয়াস প্লুতার্ক নামে পরিচিতি লাভ করেন। তিনি ''প্যারালাল লাইভস'' ও ''মোরালিয়া'' রচনার জন্য প্রসিদ্ধ। প্লুতার্কের প্রাপ্ত সকল রচনায় গ্রিক ভাষায় রচিত, তবে তা গ্রিক ও লাতিন দুই ভাষাভাষীর জন্যই রচিত হয়েছিল।
প্লুতার্ক ৪৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে বিওশিয়াতে এক ধনাঢ্য পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। খুব সম্ভবত সময়টা ছিল রোমান সম্রাট ক্লডিয়াসের সময়। প্লুতার্কের পিতার নাম পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে একই নামের বারবার পরবর্তী প্রজন্মে ব্যবহারের গ্রিক রীতি অনুসারে ধারণা করা হয় তার পিতার নাম নিকারচাস। তার পিতামহের নাম লাম্প্রিয়াস। তিনি ''মোরালিয়া'' ও তার নিজের ''লাইফ অব এন্টনি'' বইয়ে স্বাক্ষর করেন।
